The game "101" is a widely recognized card game designed for 2 to 4 players. Known by various names across different countries—including "Mau-Mau," "Czech Fool," "English Fool," "Pharaoh," "Pentagon," and "One Hundred and One"—it maintains consistent gameplay principles with regional variations.

The objective centers on discarding all cards from one's hand as swiftly as possible or accumulating the lowest total points in remaining cards. Gameplay proceeds until a player reaches 101 points; exceeding this threshold results in elimination. The game concludes when only one player remains, who is then declared the winner.

Our digital adaptation offers several features to enhance the experience:

<li>The option to treat 6's, 7's, 8's, 10's, and the King of Spades as regular cards</li>
<li>Specific rules for playing an 8—either drawing three or five cards or continuing to draw until a playable card appears</li>
<li>The ability to close an 8 with another card if it was the last card played</li>
<li>Options for how many cards to draw when possessing the King of Spades (four or five)</li>
</ul>

Usability enhancements include a quick move animation feature that can be enabled at any point, along with an "End the game on loss" setting for players who prefer not to watch automated opponents' actions.

The core rules define that a player may play a card matching the suit or value of the top open card. If unable to do so, they must draw from the deck. Failure to play the drawn card results in passing to the next player. When the deck runs out, the discard pile's top card is set aside face up, and remaining cards are reshuffled into a new draw deck.

Special cards impose additional actions:
<ul>
<li>6: draw one card and skip next turn</li>
<li>7: draw two cards and skip next turn</li>
<li>King of Spades: draw four cards and skip next turn</li>
<li>8: requires an additional action—either play again or draw until a playable card appears</li>
<li>10: reverses turn order</li>
<li>Ace: skips next turn</li>
<li>Queen: allows the player to select the suit for subsequent plays</li>
</ul>

Players may pass certain actions by playing equivalent cards (e.g., playing a 6 or 7 to skip their own or another's action). The round concludes when a player discards all their cards; that player is declared the winner of that round.

The scoring system penalizes players exceeding 101 points—such players are eliminated, and gameplay continues among remaining participants. The last player who remains below this threshold is crowned champion. Scoring adjustments include reducing a player's total score upon reaching exactly 100 points to 50, or resetting scores to zero upon reaching exactly 101 points.
